I almost bought one of these today, because mwave.com has them for an unbeatable price. But then, I discovered that Amazon has them for what works out to be about 50 cents cheaper. Then I also discovered that the battery life isn’t that great, and some of the interface operations are quirky. And since I don’t *really* need one of these, and my primary reason for buying it was that the price was really good, I nixed the idea. Oh well. Maybe later.
I also got to talk to my brother in VA today for about two hours, which was cool. I don’t usually talk to him for that long. We talked about a lot of stuff, ranging from physics to childhood memories to movies to relationships. Very good times.
Tonight, the company where I work had their first quarterly birthday celebration slash profit sharing meeting at Dave & Buster’s. Why did I just write “slash” instead of actually writing a slash? Nevermind. For the past two Christmases, they’ve given bonuses to all the employees (all six of us, haha). Now, there are no more Christmas bonuses. However, the way the profit sharing thing works out, everybody actually gets more throughout the year than they would have otherwise. That is, unless business just totally sucks–which, of course, it doesn’t, and foreseeably won’t for a long time. I really, really like my job.
So anyway. The funny part about Dave & Buster’s is that it’s kind of like a cross between a bar and Chuck E. Cheese. They won’t let you in without somebody who’s 25 or older if you’re not yet 21, which I found out the hard way. I got there before everyone else, so Mike (boss) asked me to go in and get a table for 8. However, seeing as I’m only 20 and nobody older was there yet, they wouldn’t let me in. rgh. I’m not going to drink. Hello. I volunteered my ID and said “I’m only 20, I’m not going to drink.” I don’t understand the logic behind a restaurant that will let you in as long as somebody old enough is with you…so maybe they can buy the beer and give it to you? Whatever. Mike got there 10 minutes later anyway.
It was an awesome time at the meeting, and afterwards we all went over to the arcade (D&B has a HUGE arcade) and played an 8-player networked game of Daytona racing, then some Time Crisis 3. Playing Time Crisis 3 with your boss kind of puts things in a new perspective, you know? :-p
Now, I’m off to finish (start?) a physics lab report, which is due tomorrow. Goodbye.
